Hey guys, I hope you had a super spooky and spectacular Halloween?! This month I’m back with another super exciting Myprotein collabo. I have been sent out Myprotein x Vimto® Selection Box which contains; 5 sachets of the Vimto® Clear Whey Isolate, Vimto® Multivitamin Gummies, and the super cute Myprotein x Vimto® Shaker. I was also lucky enough to get the Vimto® BCAA 2:1:1 Powder too! I’ll start out with a little review of the Myprotein x Vimto® Range and follow up with the most exciting Vimto Protein Cream Pie Recipe.

The pie tastes like a Vimto milkshake married a nutty crust of absolute deliciousness. The filling is so light yet packed full of healthy fats and zero processed sugars. It’s the most beautiful looking thing too – super super retro. If you’re not big on coconut you can replace it with whipping cream. Just make sure you whip it up first and fold in the remaining ingredients for the filling. Anyway on to my review…
Myprotein x Vimto® Range Review
The Myprotein x Vimto® range is a limited edition range of some of the Myprotein fitness best sellers. If you’re a fitness junkie and a child at heart (or just a Vimtophile) then this super exciting range is totally for you. You’ll get a good old hit of nostalgic Vimto flavour all whilst helping you to achieve your health and fitness goals.
Myprotein x Vimto® Selection Box, £25.99
So as I mentioned before you’ll get 5 single serving sachets of the Vimto® Clear Whey Isolate, Vimto® Multivitamin Gummies, and the super cute Myprotein x Vimto® Shaker in the Myprotein x Vimto® Selection Box.
The Clear Whey Isolate sachets all weigh 25g and contain a whopping 20g of protein. The best thing about these bad boys is that they use high-quality hydrolysed whey protein isolate and make a much lighter alternative to other kinds of protein shakes. Think more juice, less milkshake! I’ve done a little recipe and review before of the Clear Vegan Protein rather than the Clear Whey Isolate so if you’re vegan and wanting a deeper breakdown then take a look at that here. Sadly the vegan Vimto version was never released.
For the full ingredients breakdown of the Vimto® Clear Whey Isolate take a look below:
Ingredients: Whey Protein Isolate (Milk) (91%), Natural Flavouring, Colour (Beetroot Red), Vimto® Flavouring, Acidity Regulator (Phosphoric Acid), Concentrated Lemon Juice, Sweetener (Sucralose), and Anti-Foaming Agents (Dimethyl Polysiloxane, Silicon Dioxide), Spirulina Extract.
The Isolate is pretty easy to shake up using the cute little shaker – which has a special ‘blending ball’ to give you the smoothest blend ever. Due to the nature of the drink, it can foam up a bit (especially if put in a blender) but takes about 15 seconds to settle into a clear, but colourful, juice. It also tastes exactly like Vimto which is mental! I did however taste a little milky hint which was odd at first but it didn’t really bother me at all.
The Vimto® Multivitamin Gummies come in a 60 pack but for the correct serving, you have to take 2 gummies a day, meaning that’s a 30 day supply. These chewable gummy delights are packed full of Vimto flavour and made using natural flavours, colours, and real fruit juices. Most importantly though, they contain a blend of 8 essential vitamins and minerals; Biotin, Iodine, Vitamin A, Vitamin B12, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, Vitamin D3, Vitamin E, and Inositol.
I’m pretty sure the gummies are vegetarian but not sure if they’re vegan due to not knowing the origins of the vitamin D3 and biotin. You can check out the full ingredients list below:
Ingredients: Sugar, Glucose Syrup, Water, Vitamin C, Gelling Agent (Pectin), Concentrated Fruit Juices (White Grape, Blackcurrant, Raspberry), Acidity Regulator (Sodium Citrate), Vitamin E, Black Carrot Juice Concentrate, Acid (Citric Acid), Medium Chain Triglycerides, Vimto® Flavouring, Vitamin B6, Vitamin A, Glazing Agent (Carnauba Wax), Biotin, Potassium Iodide, Inositol, Vitamin D3, Vitamin B12.
Either way, these were like ridiculously delicious. They’re definitely more like sweets than vitamins, which I’m not complaining about and due to their small size I don’t think the amount of sugar would affect your diet much. The texture was quite squishy and not like your typical gummy due to them lacking gelatine – they don’t bounce back when you squeeze them. They do stick to your teeth a little bit but it isn’t anything too annoying. I was a definite fan anyway!
Vimto® BCAA 2:1:1 Powder (250g), £22.99
The Vimto® BCAA 2:1:1 Powder is a blend of the essential amino acids — leucine, isoleucine, and valine. These acids naturally occur in protein, which helps to build and repair new muscle. That means your body has the opportunity to repair faster and you can hit your next training session full pelt. I’ve been a long term BCAA user and have always found I reap the benefits. If you’re ever feeling like you’re not recovering fast enough you probably need to add these bad boys into your protein shake.
Again it’s quite similar to the Clear Whey Isolate in flavour – just a little weaker and a tad more on the bitter side which is pretty much unavoidable with BCAA powders. (If you want to get past any bitterness then just blend with ice!) I actually preferred this drink in a lot of ways to the whey as I felt it was a lot more versatile and I could add it to various drinks without affecting the flavour too much. It’s worth noting that I blended this up in a bullet style blender for the photos which is why it’s mega frothy – it won’t froth up this much in a shaker.
Thankfully it’s also suitable for vegetarians and vegans meaning that it’s pretty accessible to anyone, you can see the ingredients list below, however, it is also manufactured in a facility that handles milk.
Ingredients: L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine, Vimto® Flavouring, Colour (Beetroot Red), Natural Flavouring, Acid (Citric Acid), Concentrated Lemon Juice, Sweetener (Sucralose), Spirulina Extract.
The Verdict
Overall I was pretty impressed with the range and how Myprotein managed to nail the Vimto flavour across the board. The prices are all pretty reasonable too which really helps because these days I am on the tightest budget when it comes to luxury items like supplements. I’m a big fan of BCAAs and it was great that you could blend them together with the Clear Whey Isolate without the taste being overly cloying. The Vimto® Multivitamin Gummies were ridiculously yummy and my eldest daughter stole them because she loved the taste so much!
My only issue with the product range is the use of sucralose which I have mentioned in previous posts. I’m always pretty happy with stevia and a little blend of natural sugars and sucralose isn’t particularly blood sugar friendly. Other than that the whole range is super delicious and of course – functional.
Anyway, enough of my rambling on – if you take a look below you’ll find a super simple recipe for a ridiculously yummy Vimto Protein Cream Pie Recipe which has a protein-rich, nut-based pie crust and the filling is made from coconut cream for a healthy dose of energising MCTs. I also added in 1 sachet of the Vimto® Clear Whey Isolate and 2 scoops of the BCAAs. I thought it would be fun to decorate the pie with a handful of gummies too but of course, this is fully optional – I just loved the extra texture element they brought.

- 100g mixed nuts
- 50g ground almonds
- 2 tbsp coconut sugar
- 2 tbsp almond oil
- 1 tbsp coconut flour
- 1 tbsp maple syrup, agave, or raw honey
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- ½ tsp sea salt
- 1 x Vimto® Clear Whey Isolate
- 2 scoops (5g) Vimto® BCAA 2:1:1 Powder
- 2 x 400ml full fat coconut milk (refrigerated overnight)
- 100g sweetened coconut condensed milk
- 1 x 400ml full fat coconut milk (refrigerated overnight)
- Vimto® Multivitamin Gummies (optional)
- Purple sprinkles (optional)
- Grease and line an 18cm springform cake tin and set it to one side.
- Place all of the ingredients for the pie crust into a food processor and blitz until it resembles very fine bread crumbs. Transfer the mixture to the lined tin and 'knuckle in' to form a nice and even layer. Using your fingers press the mixture up the sides of the tin to around 3.5-4cm. Then using your fingers pinch the tops of the crust to neaten it up a little. Place into the freezer whilst you make the filling.
- Remove the lid from the tinned coconut milk and poke a hole into the solid white part. Turn the tin upside down and drain out the liquid. (You can reserve the liquid to add to shakes and smoothies!)
- Wipe out the food processor and add the solid white coconut cream and remaining ingredients for the filling. Blitz until smooth, scraping down the sides of the bowl with a silicone spatula to ensure an even blend. Alternatively, blend in a bullet style blender.
- Remove the pie crust from the freezer and pour in the filling. Tap the tin on the work surface to release any air bubbles then refrigerate for at least 4 hours but preferably overnight.
- Repeat the process of draining the liquid out of the tin of coconut milk then whip until smooth. Spoon on top of the pie then add the optional toppings. Serve immediately.
It's also great to buy coconut condensed milk that has been sweetened with coconut sugar and no processed sugars.
