I’ve never been much of a smoothie fan myself, but shove it in a coconut bowl and lace it with copious amounts of chocolate and I’m all yours baby! As you all have probably noticed, especially from my Instagram, is that I’ve been eating scrumptious amounts of cherries, over a 21 day period, in support of the Seasonal Cherries 21 Day Cherry Challenge Campaign – which is based around the notion that it takes 21 days to form a new habit. The 3 key areas of the campaign supported maintaining a balanced diet, aiding sports recovery, and fine tuning your sleep-wake cycle. To read more about the campaign click here.
Cool off in this hot weather with my Black Forest Smoothie Bowl – simple, delicious, and healthy ingredients to get that glow!
But back to this delicious Black Forest Smoothie Bowl! All you need is a handful of ingredients that no doubt you’ll already have in your kitchen cupboards, a high speed blender (I used my Froothie Optimum G2.1 Platinum Series Blender), and a bowl and spoon to eat it with – simples!
I tried to make this taste as black forest-y as possible but as you can imagine this wasn’t the easiest when using frozen bananas. I threw in a lot of cherries and some gorgeous vanilla powder which helped to make that cherry pop through. If you prefer a thicker smoothie bowl you may want to ditch the water int this and just use some full fat coconut milk instead. This Black Forest Smoothie Bowl is packed full of good fats, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that will all help to give you some much needed, sustainable energy to start your morning. It’s also fab for your skin too so you can grab that radiant, model like glow in no time.
So anyways I wanted this to be a super speedy post as I only intended for the recipe to go up on Instagram buuuut I have had quite a bit of demand for it and don’t want it to get lost. So without further ado here is my scrumdiddlyuptious Black Forest Smoothie Bowl.
