These Turmeric CBD Fat Bombs are the perfect post-workout snack due to their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and healthy fats from coconut and macadamias. So, I have a confession to make – I’ve been heavily relying on carbs as my main energy source; white potatoes, sweet potatoes, dates, dried cherries… the list is endless and I’ve also been stuffing my face full of healthy fats. It doesn’t matter that all of these things are healthy enough, what matters is that I’m doubling up my fuel sources rather than picking just one and of course I’ve ended up gaining quite a bit of weight. 2 years ago I made the decision to be fully Paleo keto and it was definitely my favourite way to eat, I love fatty foods anyway so I didn’t find the transition too hard, other than the keto flu of course. Now that I’m carbing up I just feel darn right lethargic and the brain fog is unreal, so I decided I need to come up with sweet treats I like to eat that are fully keto and super functional too. That’s when I had the idea of using Truth Naturals’ Recover supplement with CBD oil and curcumin to make these gorgeous Turmeric CBD Fat Bombs. It’s stevia-sweetened and naturally flavoured with ginger, pineapple, and lime so it makes it super versatile.

These Turmeric CBD Fat Bombs are the perfect post-workout snack due to their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and healthy fats from coconut and macadamias.
Normally I just pump the stuff straight into my mouth but it is certainly a boring way to take supplements, plus fat bombs are tough to make delicious without flavoured stevia which I currently don’t have in stock at home. I used only 5 ingredients for these fat bombs; desiccated coconut, macadamias, coconut oil, erythritol, and of course the CBD and curcumin tincture. I have written in my recipe that you can use cashews but bear in mind that they have 22g net carbs whereas macadamias have only 5g of net carbs. Macadamias are also one of the healthiest nuts too so it’s a win-win.
I’ve just realised that I haven’t even told you what CBD (cannabidiol) or curcumin (that good stuff in turmeric) are good for. You might not know this (unless you’re some sort of geek like me) but both are fab for helping you to recover post-workout as they both possess amazing anti-inflammatory properties. In fact, CBD can even boost your sports performance when taken pre-workout at a low dose as it boosts your energy levels, as it’s super anti-inflammatory it will help with keeping DOMS at bay and Truth Natural’s Recover contains some amazing plant extracts that are high in antioxidants, so together the ingredients work synergistically to create a super supplement you won’t be able to live without.
I used a fair few pumps in my recipe as you’ll see. As there are roughly 30 balls you’ll need to consume 5 balls per serving (depending upon how many pumps you used obviously). Each 2ml serving (4 pumps) of Recover contains 20mg CBD and 54mg curcuminoids, which equates to 50 servings per bottle. For the full ingredients list see below:
Ingredients: Phytocannabinoid rich hemp oil, full-spectrum turmeric extract, frankincense extract, fruit extracts, spice extracts, steviol glycosides, trace mineral complex, and green tea extract.
If you’re wondering what these little bad boys taste like then I’ll just have to do my best to describe them I suppose. They have a really velvety and creamy texture with a subtle tropical pineapple and lime flavour. You can’t taste the CBD at all and the spice of the turmeric almost goes unnoticed. I’d say in texture they’re kind of somewhere between a truffle and really smooth coconut ice and the taste is unlike anything I’ve ever had. If you’re not into heavily flavoured foods then these little balls would be perfect as a post-workout snack. After I workout I don’t want to eat anything too flavoursome as it has the tendency to make me feel a bit sick. They’re also great as a smoothie bowl topping, especially my Exotic Smoothie Bowl with Liquid Curcumin! Anyway, enough of my waffling, just check out the recipe below!
