For my first Raised Spirit CBD recipe instalment I made a gorgeous CBD Frappuccino but I’m back baby and with my 2nd instalment of Raised Spirit CBD goodness. This awesome Peanut Butter CBD Hot Chocolate uses their innovative Organic Cacao Pro CBD Oil (RRP £64.99) which is essentially Raised Spirit’s Gold CBD Infused Coconut Oil blended with raw cacao and coconut blossom sugar for a deliciously decadent CBD treat. You can spread a little on toast, eat it straight from the jar, blend into smoothies, or like I do in this recipe – stir it into a hot drink. Each 280ml jar contains a whopping 1,000mg of full-spectrum CBD which equates to around 19mg per teaspoon – so if you’re new to CBD start at 1/4 teaspoon twice a day and slowly work your way up to 2 teaspoons a day. Remember everyone’s body deals with CBD differently and less is always more!
This Peanut Butter CBD Hot Chocolate is sweet and salty, creamy dreamy deliciousness in a mug. Made using Raised Spirit’s Cacao CBD Infused Coconut Oil you’ll get a whopping 19mg in each cup to help fight insomnia, pain, and stress.
DISCLAIMER: Please note, I was sent some wonderful goodies from Raised Spirit, and paid real money, to create a delicious recipe for you all. All opinions are my own and 100% honest. For more info scroll to the bottom of this post.
I know we are right smack in the middle of summer but there’s nothing better than chillaxing out in the garden, looking up at the stars with a nice cuppa hot chocolate. As always I love to keep things as low sugar as possible so I tend to use stevia but combine it with a little bit of coconut sugar just to get a little bit more depth of flavour. But, if you wanna go the whole hog and throw in some whipped cream and marshmallows then be my guest! I like to use raw cacao powder as it’s packed with calcium (more than cow’s milk!), iron, magnesium, and antioxidants meaning that it’s brill for helping with stress and improving heart health. And, of course, those lovely antioxidants are great for making your skin glow like an Amazonian goddess.
When combined with CBD it makes the best pain and mood reliever for when you’re suffering from PMS and I often make some raw brownies to help take the edge off every month. CBD is an amazing anti-inflammatory and works similarly to NSAIDs like ibuprofen without causing any horrible digestive complications. But, the benefits don’t end there – it also stops your body from producing too much of the enzyme responsible for producing prostaglandins. Prostaglandins trigger an inflammatory response within your body making you sensitive to pain and causing uterine contractions, cutting off the blood supply to the endometrium (womb’s lining). As CBD is also a great muscle relaxant it can help to relax the muscles of the uterus decreasing the contractions and pain levels. If you’re a man however that’s probably the least exciting information for you ever but you’ll be pleased to know that CBD is thought to come with some other amazing added benefits such as improving your quality of sleep, helping with insomnia, improving your sports performance and recovery, and even helping out with your libido too – ooh-er!
Anyway, enough of the science mumbo jumbo – I bet you all wanna know how this bad boy tastes. Well, if you’re a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup lover then you’ll be pleased to know that it tastes pretty much exactly like one of those. Think sweet, salty, creamy dreamy deliciousness in a cup – it’s velvety smooth and every flavour compliments the other perfectly. If you’re strict Paleo just make sure you swap up the peanut butter for almond butter instead, the result is still just as delicious.

- Pinch sea salt
- Whipped cream
- Grated dark chocolate (85% cacao solids or above)
- 1 tbsp smooth peanut butter mixed with 1 tbsp maple syrup
- A small drizzle of Raised Spirit CBD Coconut Oil with Cacao
- Start by adding your cacao powder, maple syrup, and peanut butter to a milkpan and whisk in 2-3 tbsp of milk until smooth paste forms. Repeat until all of the milk has been whisked.
- Place the pan on a low heat and whisk continuously until warm through and frothy. Do not let the mixture come to the boil.
- Next whisk in the CBD infused coconut oil and sea salt until thoroughly mixed together. Pour into a mug and add some additional toppings if you'd like!
*All cup measurements used are UK cup measurements and so 1 cup = 250ml. Please note that the prep time is largely setting time.
