This CBD Hot Sauce will rock your world! Roasted red and Scotch bonnet chillies, garlic, and Romano peppers make this sauce super fragrant whilst pineapple and rosemary add an extra flavour layer that will blow your mind.
Ingredients
  • 1 medium to large head garlic
  • 100g Romano peppers (sliced in half lengthways)
  • 120g red chillies
  • 50g Scotch bonnet chillies
  • ¼ cup plus 2 tbsp hemp or olive oil
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 250ml apple cider vinegar (with the mother)
  • 100g tinned or fresh pineapple (drained weight)
  • 3 tbsp coconut sugar/coconut nectar/maple syrup/raw honey
  • Leaves of 1 sprig rosemary
  • 250 mg Truth Naturals CBD oil tincture (I used 5ml of 1500mg strength tincture)
Instructions
  1. Start by roasting your head of garlic. Pre-heat your oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4/150°C Fan. Cut the top ½" from your head of garlic then place onto a large square of tin foil, with the shiny side up. Pour over 2 tbsp hemp oil and sprinkle over an ample amount of sea salt. Close the foil to create a parcel and place onto a baking tray in the oven. Roast for 55 minutes.
  2. Whilst your garlic is roasting start preparing your chillies and Romano peppers. Line a baking tray with foil, shiny side up and place your chillies and Romano peppers on top. Drizzle over the remaining hemp oil and sprinkle over 1 tsp of sea salt.
  3. Once your garlic has roasted unwrap the foil and place back into the oven. Place your chillies into the oven and roast for 10 minutes before turning over and roasting for a further 3 to 5 minutes. Remove the scotch bonnets once softened and leave the rest to cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Remove from the oven and pull out the stalks from the chillies and peel the garlic cloves. Pour the excess oil into a container and keep to drizzle over salads and roasted vegetables.
  5. Place the roasted chillies, Romano peppers, garlic, and remaining ingredients, except for the CBD oil, into a high powered blender and blend until well combined. Pour into a medium-sized heavy-bottomed pan and place on a medium to low heat. Simmer for 20 minutes then leave to cool before adding the CBD oil.
  6. Transfer to bottles using a funnel. If you prefer, you may return to the blender once more and pass through a sieve for a smooth sauce.
