Having the option of a Paleo friendly snack option is not always easy to find but fortunately for us there are people who want to help with the struggle, people like Suzie from The Primal Pantry. We will be interviewing Suzie to find out a bit more about The Primal Pantry and the cave-girl that runs it.
I never ever expected the response we had, when the website went live and I opened it up for pre-orders 20,000 bars were sold in just over 2 weeks. To this day it still doesn’t feel real. And it is great to see those first customers coming back again to reorder regularly.
Georgie: Hi Suzie, thank you for taking the time to speak with us. The question we would like to start with is who is Suzie? Tell us about yourself and your background.
Suzie: Thanks for inviting me to do an interview. Where do I start… I have always had a passion for food and started my career at Nestle (think of all that chocolate), I then moved to innocent drinks which gave me some great entrepreneurial exposure. Following innocent I re-trained as a nutritionist and started to working at an even smaller food company – Little Dish. After having our daughter I decided not to return to work and instead focus on building up my nutrition consultancy business. By then I was fully Paleo and our daughter was weaned on primal food choices. Although seeing a variety of clients I missed the food industry greatly, I had made balls of fruit and nuts at home for clients to enjoy and some suggested purchasing them off me to take home. So in August 2013 I decided I would take this to the next level and began creating the bars (balls at the time) and by February 2014 launched The Primal Pantry (then The Primal Kitchen).
