DIY Sensual Rose and Ylang Ylang Coconut Milk Bath

Ever wanted to bathe in milk like Cleopatra, surrounded in silky rose petals, all whilst being fed grapes (or chocolate) by some smoking hot stud? Yes? Welcome to the club babes. No? GET OUTTA HERE! Okay, maybe I’m not in the mood for the smoking hot stud this Valentine’s Day but I certainly am in the mood for a bit of Galentine’s self lovin’. And I can’t think of anything better than this DIY Sensual Rose and Ylang Ylang Coconut Milk Bath.

The weather has certainly been gloomy recently, the homeschool-work-jugglathon has been getting me down, and I’m pretty darn lonely too. So, I’ve been slumping myself into a nice hot bath in the mornings to soothe those blues. I love me a good salt bath but I tend to forget that there are such luxurious things as milk baths, until now that is. There once was a day when I used to buy a sleep focussed one by Origins that had the most heavenly smell, but we are talking about 12 years ago.

This super moisturising and mood boosting DIY Sensual Rose and Ylang Ylang Coconut Milk Bath is the perfect way to celebrate Galentine’s Day.

These days, I’m a bit tight when it comes to forking out for luxury bath products so I tend to make my own and I’m never disappointed by the results. In fact, I often find that my skin reacts better to homemade products than shop-bought ones, probably due to the sheer lack of chemicals and nourishing natural ingredients. Cleopatra used to use donkey’s milk in her baths but I don’t have a donkey on hand and I also like to keep things plant-based whenever possible.

You probably don’t know this but coconut milk contains lauric acid – a medium-chain fatty acid that supports skin health, is anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and is of course super moisturising. It’s even thought to help increase the turnover of collagen thus healing wounds quicker. Pretty nifty hey?  I love Indigo Herbs Organic Coconut Milk Powder as it comes in big 1kg bags and can make a lot of milk baths. Not only that it’s great for making instant turmeric lattes and cacao drinks.

For good measure, I threw in some beautiful Indigo Herbs Rose Blossom Tea, which is essentially just dried rose petals. It does make a really nice and calming cup of tea but it also helps to boost the whole olfactory experience of the bath and makes it look super romantic too. I am a total sucker for pretty things and you guys should be too god damn it!

Now, I know some of you lucky guys and gals will be looking forward to spending a sensual Valentine’s Day together which is why I’ve been sure to add in some essential oils to boost that sexy vibe for you.  First up is Indigo Herbs Ylang Ylang Essential Oil. Ylang ylang is thought to be one of the most powerful aphrodisiac essential oils and can influence sexual energy, increase feelings of euphoria, relieve depression, and enhance your connection together. Not only this but it can boost the circulatory system, aiding a low libido.

I’ve also added in a little Indigo Herbs Rose de Mai Essential Oil. Rose oil also has the ability to boost the circulatory system, and there’s some scientific research that it’s emotionally uplifting too, meaning it will help you both to get in the mood. It’s a very sensual, romantic, and opulent scent. Oh, and for us lucky ladies that have a higher scent sensitivity – it’s thought that with the use of essential oils we have the ability to have more orgasms than those that don’t. So, if there was ever a time to crack out those essential oils it’s definitely now!

To make this gorgeous DIY Sensual Rose and Ylang Ylang Coconut Milk Bath you virtually require zero skills whatsoever. Just a set of scales, a food processor or a big bowl and a fork, and some jars. So what are you waiting for? It’s time to get stirring up your love potion now!
